Professor emeritus of English Literature Martin Hilský is one of the country’s most prominent translators of Shakespeare’s plays and sonnets into Czech. In 2011, his translations were published in a single volume The Complete Works (Dílo). Now, Academia has followed up with Shakespeare’s England: Portrait of an Age.

Czech Studies programme (Institute of Czech Studies at CU FA) opens an online evening Czech course for foreigners – A1, A2, B1 proficiency. You may enrol to the summer by 18 December 2020.

From 1 December 2020, CU FA libraries will start again to loan books to the students and employees of Charles University in a restricted mode.

In 2015, Europe was in a tense debate on the topic of so-called refugee crisis. Amongst the students that went to help in the Balkan was Jakub Múčka now a PhD student at the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at CU FA. Around him emerged a team that has been building the online Atlas of the Current World.
